Crystal Chappell as Olivia Spencer Lewis Spaulding
Biography
Crystal Chappell made her debut on the CBS daytime drama Guiding Light on July 5, 1999 in the role of Olivia Spencer. A 2002 Daytime Emmy Award-winner for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Crystal was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2007.
Born in Silver Springs, MD, Chappell studied computer science at Coast Carolina College and journalism at the University of South Carolina. While on a break from her studies, Chappell won the lead in the University of Maryland's production of "Beauty and the Beast," a role that required her to enroll in the university's acting program. While at Maryland, Chappell also performed "Spring's Awakening" at The Kennedy Center as part of the National College Theatre Festival.
Upon graduation, Chappell moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. Inspired by Sanford Meisner on Acting, Chappell wrote the author and was later invited to join a group of students at his home in the West Indies for intensive theatrical training.
Chappell is known to daytime audiences for her portrayal of Dr. Carly Manning on Days of Our Lives and Maggie Carpenter on One Life to Live. Chappell has also guest-starred on Walker, Texas Ranger, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Burke's Law and Diagnosis Murder. She starred in the feature films Lady in Waiting and Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter. Her other theatrical endeavors include: "The Three Sisters," "The Balcony," "The Twelfth Night" and "The Comedy of Errors."
Chappell resides in Grover Beach, CA with her husband, actor Michael Sabatino, and their sons Jacob Walker (b. 5/11/00) and Dylan Michael (b. 9/2/03). Her birthday is August 4.
