Season 2: Episode 14: Leaving Las Vegas

After losing his license in California, Shark heads to Vegas to drown his sorrows and play some cards. Soon after he arrives, he is approached by an old client, Duke Ballantine, who needs help. Duke, a real estate mogul in Vegas, has killed one of his subordinates in a fit of rage, and offers Shark five million dollars to take on the case as his defense attorney. With that much money staring him in the eye, and feeling despondent about his current situation, Shark agrees to take the case. However, he quickly realizes that he can no longer be an impartial defense attorney, and when Duke kills a key witness and attempts to bribe a juror to ensure a not guilty verdict, Shark is forced to intervene on the side of the law. Though he still defends Duke in court, Sebastian helps throw the case so Duke is found guilty. Because of the conviction, the US Attorney’s office in Los Angeles puts in a good word for him with the Bar Association, and Shark gets his license back in California.
